Guest lost_galaxy Posted March 31, 2003 Report Posted March 31, 2003 What components does it consist of ? What does it do ? What happens if it goes wrong ?? Thanks !! Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted March 31, 2003 Report Posted March 31, 2003 The unit is at the rear of the engine, on the battery side. You need to remove the two partition panels to get to it. It allows a controlled amount of exhaust gas back into the inlet manifold. The pipes block, the unit blocks, and the diaphragm busts. When any or all the above happen, the ECU runs outside its map, and odd running can occur. Suggest you first disconnect and block the vac hose and see if any improvement. If not, remove and examine valve and pipes for blockage/sticking. The IAC is also prone to sticking - generally poor idle control. It can be successfully cleaned. Quote
Guest emjay Posted March 31, 2003 Report Posted March 31, 2003 Hi guys, excuse the interuption ........... my V6 has a habit of 'chugging' in idle sometimes, I wondered if there could be a connection here?. The noise comes from the inlet manifold area and I can't track it down. Quote
