rwtomkins Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 I am really embarrassed to ask such a simple question but it's not in the manual, I can't find the answer through searching and I don't want to risk doing damage by using brute force. So, how do you open up the remote key fob to change the batteries? It's the remote for a 2002 Galaxy, the 1.9TDI Ghia automatic. It's black, has two buttons - lock and unlock, obviously - and a little red indicator light. Quote
insider Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 On the opposite face to the buttons there is a small slot above the Ford logo. Insert a small flat-bladed screwdriver into the slot and twist it. This should detach the key from the fob without much effort. You can then open the fob itself by releasing the plastic clips on either side to reveal the battery.Be careful that nothing falls out, especially your PATS chip (if you lose this your car will be immobilised). rwtomkins Posted November 11, 2008 Author Report Posted November 11, 2008 Brilliant! Thanks so much, Insider. I thought that little hole might be something to do with it... Quote
