dfh101 Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 Dont mind the aircraft noise but its smoking really bad and the wifes refusing to drive it now. Many thanks DFH4NP :D Quote
Guest ianock Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 Dont see any reason why you cant disconnect the multiplug from the aux heater & also the diesel feed pump(other side of vehicle infront of fuel tank)however get a garage to do it for you with a proper ramp,I wouldnt go under a galaxy on drive up ramps or axle stands if you paid me! However if on flat ground with handbrake on/in gear & wheel blocks you can stick your head under & disconnect the heater but it's a awkward plug to disconnect. My only worry is will it stop/affect the coolant flow of the rest of the system? maybe someone else can help you there. You could always get it fixed at dealer as there is a repair kit available. Guest Porker Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 Driving into work today and clouds of white smoke. Stopped and found it was coming from the Aux heater. Inside the car rear I adjusted the control to what I presume is off and all OK. (not sure this is what stopped it though). Can anyone tell me how this heater works, what causes the smoke and how much I should expect to pay to get it fixed? Searched the posts and can't find a reply to this one. BTW - still on low power after 8 trips to Main dealer. "Can't do anything mate if the computer doesn't report a fault" Quote
dfh101 Posted March 9, 2004 Author Report Posted March 9, 2004 Wife took it into the vw stealer today who advised to disconnect the plug at the heater, took 5 minutes as it was a bit ackward and sealed the ends with electrical tape. They didn't even look at it and quoted Quote
Guest nimrod Posted March 9, 2004 Report Posted March 9, 2004 Not quite how to stop it from working but interesting nether the least self fit cruise and aux heater control Quote
