A long time ago both my rear electric windows stopped working on my 2.8 ghia galaxy. It is 1999 model, so a mark 1.

I have decided to get to the bottom of the fault.

So far, as both windows failed at the same time i thought that the problem was not at the rear of the car ie: in the door panels, however i have checked the connectors on the switches in the door panels and they seem fine. I have just changed the centre console switch for a new one and this has had no effect on the problem either. I have also checked the fuse as well, that is fine.

Are there any relays that can effect the rear electric windows or do they just work via a fuse? Has anybody got any idea where else i can look to try and reslove this problem?

Thanks

Although they both stopped working at the same time it is worth looking at the wires inside the rubber between the rear doors and the B pillar. Just pull back the rubber from the door plug and all will be revealed. Mine were broken and a quick job with crimping connectors cured the problem, and gave me better sound from the rear speakers :) I made the mistake of replacing the entire loom on one side, not only very expensive but totally unnecessary as I later discovered.
