melo Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 Anyone help on how to reset the oil service light (come on after first 6,000 miles) on a 2008 Galaxy TDCi, please? Quote
insider Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 Take it to a Dealer - it's come on for a reason. Quote
melo Posted October 9, 2008 Author Report Posted October 9, 2008 Quite - probably because it's due an oil service, but my question was and is, if anyone knows how the oil service warning can be reset. Quote
melo Posted October 9, 2008 Author Report Posted October 9, 2008 (edited) You all seem to be missing the point here! It's the oil service message with picture of a spanner that is coming on and it means it is time to get the oil service (that means oil and filter change) done.I needed to know how to reset that oil service message once the oil and filter had been changed. However, I now know the answer and for anyone else who needs to know, here it is: Ignition to position 2Press brake pedal and accelerator pedal down together for 15 seconds after which you get a message telling you that oil service light has been reset. Hope this will help others when the time comes. Edited October 9, 2008 by melo Quote

Nigel J Posted November 3, 2010 Report Posted November 3, 2010 Thanks, the reset seems to work. I seem to have the software issue that the oil service light comes on after about 6000 miles.
