jkspoff Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 (edited) Let me know how you get on, as I would like to do the same, don't forget though the Ford radio size is not double DIN, its 1 and 3/4 DIN size. Edited January 27, 2009 by jkspoff Quote
Gadgetoid Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 Let me know how you get on, as I would like to do the same, don't forget though the Ford radio size is not double DIN, its 1 and 3/4 DIN size. That is why you need the new facia part as suggested above - it is the facia for the satnav system and is double DIN instead of 1.75. Alhambras and Sharans also come with this one as standard to fit in the VW Gamma separate radio and an in-dash CD player. Although I have to say the wording in the reply from bj2004 above seems suspiciously familiar. If there was such a thing as 'cut and paste' on computers I might start to wonder whether one of my previous answers had been used....LOL Quote
bj2004 Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 yes sorry gadgetoid i was going to edit it but you said it all perfectly Quote
Hollowmnoor Posted March 31, 2009 Report Posted March 31, 2009 I replaced by Ford 5000 with a standard DIN Pioneer head unit and the sound quality improvement was immense. I would have liked to have fitted a double DIN unit but there aren't that many of them around and it can also be difficult to match up the illumination colour (if you're picky like me!)And then of course there's the new surround trim required..... Willie Krashitt Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 Hi,"Where can I get it from?"From any Ford dealer. Part number quoted is Ford FINIS code that any Ford dealer would recognise. Costs Quote
