seatkid Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 (edited) I know two people who have had them. One (60) had angioplasty at the same time, she said it was a frighteneing experience (nerves I think). The other (70) suffered a stroke during the procedure, he was touch and go for a while, but made a fairly quick recovery (3-4 days). The risk of stroke increases steeply with age I believe. But they both benefited greatly from the treatment/investigation. Thats all I know. Edited September 11, 2008 by seatkid Quote
Bigjeeze Posted September 12, 2008 Report Posted September 12, 2008 I had one last year. They went in via the wrist - it didn't hurt but it did feel uncomfortable. I did have a mild stroke during the procedure as I felt unwell and they gave me some clotbusters and it cleared within a couple of minutes - The only ill effects I had afterwards was I needed to rest for a few hours. The test proved I had nothing wrong!! Quote
