galaxy20 Posted September 7, 2008 Report Posted September 7, 2008 my 1996 galaxy 2.0 glx has an idle problem, it starts up fine but if i switch on my air con or start to move the steering wheel (using power steering) my revs drop by about 250 rpm which can cause the car to stall, i suspect the idle stability valve (air bypass valve) i have took it out and cleaned it but it didn't make much difference, if anything its now maybe a little worse, could the ISV be knackered and need a replacement or could there be anything else causing the problem? sepulchrave Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Sounds like you have an air leak somewhere after the MAF, check all the intake trunking, this can split. Quote
galaxy20 Posted September 9, 2008 Author Report Posted September 9, 2008 I swapped out the idle stability valve (air bypass valve) and it fixed my problem, its idling perfectly now. A big thanks to the forum, without it it wouldn't of known were to look first, and at Quote
