Must4rd Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 I have searched the forums but cant find the exact answer to my question. I have a mk2 galaxy. One of the runners has broken on my electric windows. I have taken everything out and now have the complete harnass on my kitchen table. Is the replacement regulator a complete unit excluding the motor. I understand this is only available from VW.How do I connect the motor to the regulator. Also is there a way of adjusting the tension to my existing regulator so I can get the cable to go round all the little plastic wheels. Thanks Must4rd Quote
mumof4 Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 the complete unit is also available from frauds for around 100 plus quid IIRC.You can also pick them up on ebay. one from a MKI galaxy, will NOT fit the mkII, so make sure you get the correct one. the motor, IIRC, is held on by screws.6 point star shaped ones. once the cable is slack/ come off,,,,, believe me, its a b@stard of a job to get em back on again/ tighten up!.. Its a case of needing several hands, lots of patience, keeping all the swear words in your head.. and hope that as you get it round one little wheel, it doesnt all unravel also, be careful when you take the motor off, as it also holds on, another wheel IIRC with a load of cable on it, that once unravelled,, its a pigs tail to redo!! anyway, good luck and let us know how you get on. Maz quick edit... you put the motor on, the same way you took it off. and i do believe that VW do sell the reg without motor, but you can also get them on ebay minus motor. Quote
