pinkangel Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 heya ive recently purchased a 1999 galaxy ghia x v6, today have just taken it down to a 5 seater, theres actually only going to be 4 people in the car, so taken out the back 2, it certinaly comes in handy for boot space, ive had to get the galaxy due to myself now needing a specialised wheelchair so the space is needed, but i personally still would have it lol, im a big fan of the car, Quote
mumof4 Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 Mirez, mine is a 7 seater, but i took one of the seats out just after i bought the car, the spare seat now resides in the kids play area and is used as a dentist/doctors/ etccc chair by the kids.lol as for the set up in the back, its two rows of two that i have which is easier for the kids to get in and out.. and also easier to clean up the carp the kids drop without having to take all 7 out. 6 is good, easier to live with, and a bit extra room inside. so i have 2 in middle and 2 in back plus front two. suits me and the kids just fine and room for the mutt passenger side when we take him out. sooo.. id say.. go for it, its a fab price for a fab sounding car. and at that price, one hell of a bargain! you lucky bugger you!! mk2vr6 Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 duh! a 6 seater is a 2 2 2 set up you cant go 2 3 0 due the arms on the seats, so talking about what you do to get 5 or 6 seats doesnt help! plus the mountings for the middle seat are not in place, although you can fit the mounts and remove the arms to fit the third seat but you may not have the seat belt mount so you will have to rely on the lap strap version Quote

mk2vr6 Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 far from it, had breakfast on the decking, walked round the local chateau, had lunch in the gardens, back in time to down a few cold beers on the deck as the sun goes down behind the trees and to post a reply to what were really two totally pointless posts about 5/6 seaters from people who dont have much idea of what having a true 6 seater involves? but enough about my bad day, did I mention about the fantastic chateau and the cold beers on the deck? my day really sucked.......... now back to the 6 seat issue...... 6 seaters have arm rests on the seats and the two middle row seats are moved inwards to the center of the car to allow for this feature, so trying to mount a third seat in the middle row is nigh on impossible without removing the arm rests or cutting up the carpet and fitting the seat mount brackets to allow for repositioning the seats to mount three abreast......snigger he said a breast :D some VW Sharans used to come with removable arm rests and a nice little bag for keeping them in.... altogether now ahhh thats cute.... they also had all the floor mount in place to allow for the row of three in the center so to answer the op's question... its well with your ability to convert it to a 2 3 0 set up and use the load cover and if the need arrives fit all 7 seats, IF! the vehicle in question has the center seat, roof mounted seat belt fitted? or your willing to put up with the lap belt only set up? but then again the roof mount set up can fitted by yourself as its been proven by another member, so yes if you want it and are willing to do the work or can put up the odd seating arrangment go fo it Quote

Yep....they only do 2 carpets one for the 6 seater and one for the 7 seater ( obviously various colours ).At least this is true for the Mk1's. Quote
