NICKADAY Posted August 12, 2008 Report Posted August 12, 2008 hi alli have the visteon dvd system which only comes on with the stereo. last year i changed head unit (knackered as kids thought cd player was moneybox!) for a sony unit which is great. only thing is when using dvd on holiday noticed that it wont come on until i put stereo in radio mode which is okay when kids are using headphones but if you want to connect it to the aux input to play through stereo it turns dvd off. i am assuming it is connected to the electric aerial output for power to turn on therefore would i be right to connect the wire connected to the blue wire i think to constant live (is that red) or would it be preferable to the live linked to the ignition (is this yellow) Quote
mk2vr6 Posted August 12, 2008 Report Posted August 12, 2008 (edited) is there not an aux switching feed on the head unit, to power an amp? this would come on with the radio or the cd and allow the dvd to power up, plus it would kill the power when you pull the keys or switch off the radio where as if your sony unit is like my old one? the electric aerial is only powered when your have the radio on and not when you listen to the cd hence while you cant use it without the unit switched to play the radio Edited August 12, 2008 by mk2vr6 Quote
