shaun1968 Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 I have got rain water comming into the pasinger footwell. It is comming from behind the heater plate. Could this be from a leaking pollen filter, or are there other places it could be leaking in? I know there are topics on this forum covering this but I am unable to open any of the attatchments that may give me the answer. Please help, Thanks Quote
skippy 2 Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 The first thing to check is the scuttle drains. This is where the rain water drains from the screen and goes into a trough behind the wiper linkage at the back of the engine compartment. If there is water in there it is probaly blocked. Looking from the front of the engine to the right just under the screen you can see the pollen filter, that is where the water maybe coming in. You can unblock the drains with curtain wire this is what I used. You have to feel for a small hole in the bottom of the trough on both sides this will unblock them. If the trough is empty pour some water into the trough. The water should escape from under the front wheel arches and surrounding area. Hope this helps! Quote
shaun1968 Posted August 12, 2008 Author Report Posted August 12, 2008 Thanks for your response. I should have said that the scuttle drains are clear. Water runs out through the wheel arch as it is suppose to. I was wndering if there could be a broken seal that is causing water to seep through the pollen filter or running behind the pollen filter?
