chicken_arse_legs Posted August 2, 2008 Report Posted August 2, 2008 (edited) Hi everyone!I recently gave my car to a garage to get a engine put in and someone broke into my car and stole a few bits including all the fuses and relays. Stuff were replaced by the garage but a few relays were not, I was told that the petrol galaxy share the same fuse box as the desiel so some of the relays are not used on the desiel. Well few things are not fuctional like front window demister, back wiper and I'm woundering whatelse might not be working in regards to the engine because its not feeling right (could need oil change, think they put in cheap or old oil). Can anyone give me a diagram on what relays and where they are placed in the central juction box and also what they do?Also the fuses as well please and what amp fuse! can anyone tell me if the wrong relay is placed would it still function at all or function oddly? Ford galaxy, MK1, 1.9 TDI, AHU engine, P reg 1997. I've looked in my TIS ford cd and not much joy, doesn't seem to match up to my cars fuse box correctly. Also need to install an alarm think can't do it with all the relays misplaced, help!!!!!!Thank you! Edited August 2, 2008 by chicken_arse_legs Quote
chicken_arse_legs Posted August 3, 2008 Author Report Posted August 3, 2008 If anyone who has the same galaxy as mine could look at their fuse box (central junction box) which is under the steering wheel and write up whats under it and what fuse and amp is placed at whatever fuse number! or draw it up p.s I have the front windows electric only and air con. I expect everything else would be same. Thank you! Quote

chicken_arse_legs Posted August 6, 2008 Author Report Posted August 6, 2008 (edited) Hello guys, Sip or anyone else I have a new problem, i went to clarkins and asked them for the relays that are missing just to get a price. They said the number on top of the relay is not enough. each pin on the relay has a number on it also, they told me to bring in the old one (can't do that it was stolen). Can anyone help with finding the exact relay i will require? Where can I find the numbers on the pins without the relays are they on the really sockets where the relays would go? I have the following missing :- CENTRAL JUNCTION BOX Position............Relay number..............DescriptionR2......................72R3 .....................30...........................I have one that says 109 in this positionR4......................18 ...........................I have one that says 8kb for some reason R9......................36R10.....................JUMPERR14.....................169 UNDER INSTRUMENT PANELI have only black and white relay but i haven't check the number on the top of them to see if they are the right ones so if someone can give me information on them to, the rest are missing - R18....................greenR19.....................greyR21....................orangeR24....................violetR25.....................beigeR26......................Blue Maybe if someone can give me information I require on all the relays then I can see if the ones that are in the car are the right ones. Thank you! Edited August 6, 2008 by chicken_arse_legs Quote
michaelbradford Posted August 29, 2008 Report Posted August 29, 2008 Hi just had problem with all windows staying down. Traced fuses and main box requires you to take the front drivers facia partly off then the easliy accessed fuse area folds down as a module to get to level 2 and 3 with relays too. Quite awkward but nice to know whats there. Ended up putting a link in to front window switch and dot windows up. I suspect previous day partner spilt coffee next to handbrake as the problem went 24hrs later. Never did find fuse 71? Quote
scupper1 Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Hello: Unfortunately I am not able to offer much technical input on this topic but I am very interested in having a PDF of the fuse box diagram. I have recently purchased a 1997 Ford Galaxy in Norway and the user manual is not in english. I seem to have several electrical problems: key entry not working, heat in seats, and I always like to check the fuses first to ensure that everythign is correct there. I see a PDF on this exchange but as a junior member I am unable to download. Any help would be welcome Scupper1 Quote
khanm78 Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 heya all, first time here and not so savy with car talk, i have paid out for a second hand galaxy ghia, 2.8 petrol S reg 97 i think. now i have been cleaning it inside and out and was looking through all the nooks and cranies getting used to the car.while i was doing this i found it had a multi cd changer in a rear compartment, couldnt figure out why it wasnt ejecting so looked at the fuses, i noticed some empty spaces and well i pulled some fuses out. now radio is screeming for a code, cd still dont work and i have no idea what fuses should be in the empty slots. dont worry about the code for the radio i am sure its the number wrote on the radio itself, if not ill be begging for that naother time. but could anyone point me to a pdf or such that shows all fuses and especialy there amps, its off for an mot in 2 weeks and i want everything to be perfect if poss, the pdf above is not the same layout as mine so thats why i am asking. thank you in advance, PS: i know i can buy the owners books but dont have the cash at the moment as spending it on my new car :) but ofc i will be picking one up asap, this request is just realy for the fuses section. M K new galaxy learner :D Quote
