smj Posted July 27, 2008 Report Posted July 27, 2008 hi, my 99 tdi has developed a strange problem which i can't seem to answer by reading through the various forums, the passenger door lock won't operate the lock any more(car has no remote, key actually in lock), the key will turn through 90 degrees anti and clock wise, but the door won't open and the central locking won't work, however if i open the door, push the internal door lock in(locked), shut the door and use the key the rest of the car will lock, which suggests central locking is all okay., the drivers door operates all doors, and boot as it should 95 percent of the time, every now and then the key will turn as normal but the doors won't lock or unlock, i have taken both door cards off, and the wiring all seems good, no breaks where it leaves the door to the shell, sat inside the car both drivers and passenger door internal locks operate the car as they should, is this a lock problem??? or a central locking problem tied in with the door lock mechanism??? winding me up now to be honest,!!! also abs light staying on permantly, is it more than likely to be a sensor, or something more expensive, or what?????????????? thanks Quote

smj Posted July 27, 2008 Author Report Posted July 27, 2008 we have had the car 3 and a half years, bought on ebay and its been brilliant, partially decided to get rid of it a month ago, have driven all manner of estate cars to replace the galaxy with, and we manage about two miles of a test drive before realising its just not right, so the galaxy drives on!!!! a newer one would seem the logical answer but why spend 10k when our Quote
