Hi all

I hav just had to change my thermostat housing, the problem is it only has the temp coolant sensor and not the temp gauge sensor, I asked my local ford dealer and was told it was a new mod and i didnt need to connect the other cable,

in doing this I dind the incar temp gague does not work, should there be another part required as the main dealer is not being very helpfull, they said again just tie the other cable up out of the way

can someone shine some light on the matter please

many thanks

No experience of the Galaxy, but I used to have a Rover 820 with a thermostat housing I had to change. This also had 2 sensors, one for engine management and one for temp gauge. Their ranges/outputs were different, and both sensors hadto be fitted (I changed both with the housing). I strongly suspect that the Galaxy is the same, and that there may be 2 or more thermostat housings. I would suggest that you need to re-visit the Parts counter and make sure that you get the correct one for your engine - when I had my Rover, I used to ensure that I always had a piece of paper in my wallet with the chassis (VIN) number and engine number on it!
