A couple of months ago, I had the following problem. When on cruise control, the cruise control would switch itself off with a big judder as if I'd just gone over a big pot hole. It happened a few times and I managed to recreate it but not with the same conditions. I did notice that the rev counter briefly zeroed and then came back to indicate the right revs, it felt like the engine had turned off and then back on.

 

A couple of weeks ago, my wife noticed that the stablising warning light came on (the button is by the parking sensor switch, I forget what it's called now), the rev counter was at zero but no loss of power.

 

Of course, when it was tested in the garage, there was nothing found.

 

Any ideas?
