searcher Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 I had the same when i changed my head unit so went back to the shop to ask and was told to swap the blue and yellow wires around. In other words blue to yellow and yellow to blue. This givea a constant live to the memory side of the stereo. This worked fine on my Pioneer unit but just to be on the safe side go back to the shop and see whet their opinion is on this. Quote
malcolm.dobell Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 there are two 12V power supplies to the radio. One is to power it when it's switched on and the other supplies a tiny amount of electricity to keep the memories alive. The first is fded via the ignition switch and the other one is direct from the battery. I have read threads saying these two supplies can be connected incorrectly in some of the cars and need a couple of wires switched round in the connector. However I don't seem to be able to make the search engine work to find you the detail 9or I'm using the wrong terms!) I'm sure some other kind soul will help Quote

(OMG you must think im stoopid lol) If its anything like the adapter lead I bought for my Sony Head unit the two power feeds (switched and permanent) have bullet connectors between the two multiway plugs, just pull them apart and plug them into the opposite lead. Mine were Red and Yellow. HTH Keith Quote
