Installing Radio Code

Hi, I've done a search but no results - I have a 2005 Galaxy Ghia (TDi 130PS) with the standard audio system. I have the radio code but am not sure how to lock the code in once I've 'typed' it in.

 

I should mention that the car is Spanish registered, located in Spain - and any handbooks are all Greek to me - I mean - Spanish to me. Thanks in advance.

press button 1 till the first number of your code shows up repeat on buttons 2, 3 and 4 to input the rest of your code, if the correct number is on display press button 5, job done

Thanks for that mk2vr6 - did the input last week with my brother-in-law and we coded it okay, but for some reason he was adamant that we press button 6 to 'lock' the code in. I'll follow your instructions when I next get to the ol' Gal. Many thanks again.

I didn't think you could 'lock' the code in as if it was stolen, then the thief would be ok to install elsewhere etc. etc.

That is the whole idea of codes for radios, I thought. B)

correct dave you dont actually lock the code in, after the code is inputted correctly you hit 5 to confirm it and then the unit will hold the code untill the supply is interupted! then you have to go through the whole procedure again, 5 is the only button that is a fixed operation in the procedure so probably why the OP said lock in?

Which is why I put the word 'lock' into inverted commas - I wasn't referring to it as being a permanently locked feature ....! Forgive me for being overly tired and unable to source the absolute correct phraseology.
