Hi

I've a problem with my 1999 1.9TDi

The led in the drivers door no longer flashes and the indicators no longer flash when the vehicle is locked!! I assume this means that the pats isn't set.

We only have 2 keys, and it is the same symptoms for both.

The vehicle starts and runs as normal but I'm a little worried/ confused!!

Can any body enlighten me?

Thanks

If the cars starting then the pats system is working as its recogniseing the key code and switching off the imobilliser, common problem is the wiring to the door in the rubber boot cracking! if the central locking is still working and the electric windows still work then its possible its only a couple of wires that have gone open circuit!

do the doors still dead lock?

Also check that bonnet and tailgate are both properly closed and latched shut. I don't think the alarm will set unless all "opening bits" (excluding windows) are properly closed.

Hi

Thanks for the help.

Ive checked further and the problem appears to be the passenger door.

The central locking seemed to work fine from the drivers door, however when I tried the key in the passenger door the key just turned loosely and nothing happened!!

So I guess its a mechanical problem with the linkage, I'll invest again when my wife lets me have the car again (I'm stuck with an old Citroen ZX for work)

I also found that the windows go down from the divers door but not up when utilising this global windows thing!?

thanks for the advice - great help.
