seatkid Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 (edited) Sunday went down to Central London via Lincoln 200 miles 61mpg  Monday back up same route 59mpg. And I didnt get overtaken by a single HGV or caravan, quite the opposite. So it is correct to say going DOWN to London :) London is a shithole - wouldnt live/work there even if they paid me megabucks........ Edited July 1, 2008 by seatkid Quote
jkspoff Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 Without starting another boring mpg posting, you got excellent mpg, what was your average speed ? and yes London is awful ! Quote
seatkid Posted July 1, 2008 Author Report Posted July 1, 2008 Cruise control all the way at an indicated 56 mph (actual is 55mph). Monday afternoon out of Central London took 1 and a half hours crawling......it would be quicker to walk :) , at least you can shout abuse at all the smart alec tossers, safe in the knowledge that they don't understand you. All I'm trying to put across to people is, no matter what car you drive, with careful driving and forward planning (i.e. avoid harsh braking) its possible to achieve quite spectacular mpg. Just limit your top speed, you'd be surprised at how little time is added to the journey. The price of fuel is going to continue upwards.......... Quote
big_kev Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 and yes London is awful ! Sorry, got to disagree with you on that. It is much , much worse ! Quote
