I would class that as straight from the factory.....the cluster just arrived a bit late.. :)

You may need to tell thick people like me that they have to place a tick in each option.

Obviously at least 2 of them will be "none of the above"

And some Joker has just ticked "none of the above" to all of them.....Hmmm.

Find out who it was Nik and we can slap him about a bit later on.

Please do not vote if you don't have a Galaxy, Sharan or Alhambra with Cruise Control as it is a wee bit pointless ..

i retrofitted cc and enabled the ecu via vag com light on dash on when system armed safest option i think because it shows that if you touch the resume button you may accellerate

if you already have cc actively controling your speed and you need a light to remind you will you remember what the lights for ?

I voted above, my latest model mk2 shows CC light always when CC switched on, active or not, what are you hoping to show from the results ?

I voted Mk2 VW engined (V6 or TDI) with CC but no light for my current Galaxy, 52 reg 1.9Tdi. I presumed that not having the light come up was a fault as my previous Gal, an 03 2.3 petrol had CC and the light was always on whether the CC was active or not. But maybe it isn't a fault after all going by the options and results posted so far.

Smudge.

I'm hoping to find out if there is a reason (read model/year group) that my CC light isn't on!!

I dont need the light but I hate things not working so if it should be on then its needsl fixing lol!

I believe that pre 2003 mk2 mods the CC light was not installed at all.

Could be right .....it will be interesting to see if all the ones with a cc light are after that date.

Either.....

you have to pick an option from all three, in your case "none of the above" for the first one and "none of the above" / whatever from the last two.

or nik has banned you personally from voting.....quite possible that.

I didn't want to embarass him by saying that....he's getting old you know.

I think there is a simple answer to this, my previous 2001 model Galaxy had no CC light, my current 2004 Galaxy has, a modification for the later versions when they overhauled the Mk2 in 2003.

Whilst I'm on the subject it would be good to somehow aquire a list of the things that they improved on with the latest mk2's. Mine has got 12 airbags, something the old one didn't have, plus the obvious tweaks to the exterior.

Anyone on here work for Ford that could get a list ?

I've just had a thought.....wow that was strange !

Anyhow back to the thought.....what does it say in the MK2 users manual ?

Yeh I know this should maybe have been checked before .

My 1997 Mk1 Manual doesn't mention the light....neither does my 1998 update.

In the Mk2 manual does it mention the light and if so does it state whether it works on active or on/off ?

My manual says it should have a light with CC - would have been a warrenty claim if I'd owned the car when new lol

Check the version/print date of the manual (its printed on the back bottom right corner), is it 2001 ? or is it a later manual for the Gal i.e. >2003 ?

Its "07/2000-2 en RHD"

"Automatic speed control light, illuminates when the speed control system is switched on" (Pg 9)

and then:

"Press the switch on the side of the lever. The set speed becomes the new stored speed. The control light in the instrument panel will illuminate" (Pg 49)

It seems a bit contradictory !

It first seems to indicate ( or whoever wrote the manual was being a bit lazy ) that it comes on when the system if switched on......or it could mean when active ?

Then secondly it seems to indicate it will come on when active....althoug again it is very badly written.

I am assuming that this was originally translated from German.

Still none the wiser, although the assumption of illuminating when active does seem more likely.
