Having read through loads of posts about this topic I need some definative advice prior to spending some money or wrecking my new much loved and 2nd galaxy.

I want to fit a tow bar to my 2004 Galaxy Ghia 130 TDi. I have decided for appearance and versitlity that I will spend the extra and go for the detachable version.

I understand now through reading several posts that the brackets/bars are relatively simple and fool proof once the bumber is removed, which I believe is quite simple itself.

My concern is when fitting the electrics!

I have read that the Galaxy has a plug somewhere under and in front of the rear bumper.

Does this plug fit perfectly into a dedicated wiring kit like the ones sold at towi  ng equipment outlets,

If it does is any other work required?

I have read certain threads which indicate thatsomething called a realy bypass must be installed to cure the bulb failure system. Is this necessary when the dedicated kit is fitted or must it be performed in addition to the kit and if so is it a simple and tidy procedure. Also when fitted do I have to go to Ford to have VAG reprogrammed for trailer recognition.

Basically I am terrified of saving

I fitted a witter detachable, which is very simple to use and is only just visible when detached, assuming you hide the sockets under the bumper as I did.

It doesn
