Hmmm

Galaxy 2.0 petrol 96

I have a problem with the wipers, the fast speed does not want to play,

athough low speed and intermittant, etc all working fine..

When going from slow to fast in between wipes the wipers do quicken up to return to the resting place and there they stay... doh!

I have checked the fuses, relays are seated ok.. and connections to the module and motor

Don't fancy ripping the colomn to bits to check there yet.. any ideas or previous exerience here?

:o

The intermittent wipe is controlled by its own relay, the two speed wiper setting is controlled by another relay, if as you say the wipers work on all settings but fast try the relay first before you start stripping out the column

Thanks Nimrod - any idea which relay,

to clarify - all aspects of wipe work apart from 2 speed-

when switched to full up position - no wipe

If I "wash" in 2 speed position I get around 5 secs of "fast wipe"

I have checked column by the way - not too difficult actually..

must be switch relay related methinks so if I can trace the relay - I could then test??

Have had numrous relay faults in the past ie mod  30 - starting problems - fortunately able to trace that one myself

many thanks..

There is no additional relay for fast wipe....

(Vehicles up to 02/97)

Check the green wire to pin 5 of wiper control unit which is attached to the wiper motor. You should have 12v when fast wipe selected (ignition on!) - if not, it's a wiring fault or the column switch.

If you do have 12v then it's the wiper control unit.
