Alhambra Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 When looking at the temp sensor of my wife's alhamra I removed a couple of intercooler pipe to find a pool of oil in them. Obiviously this oil must be coming from the turbo? doesn't smoke alot or if at all. maybe this oil collection is 'normal' after all there is 63k miles on the clock. what is the best way to remove the intercooler to flush it out? any other tips or suggestions with regard to cleaning these pipes & reducing the chances of oil coming back in them? Alhambra Posted June 21, 2008 Author Report Posted June 21, 2008 removed all the pipes & wiped them clean with a rag .... checked the intercoolers, doesn't seem to have much on in it.... oh well Quote
Mirez Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Depends on your definition of pool I guess! Its normal to get SOME oil in the intercooler, its forced out by the turbo but a lot of oil would indicate somethings wrong or its being/been repeatedly stopped with the turbo at speed. If its more of a misting on the inside of the pipework with a little excess at the bottom then I wouldn't worry. Quote
