From reading others posts I think this is a very common problem with Galaxys, Alhambras and Sharans.

Once the central locking started acting oddly the first place to look was under the passenger seat to check the module out. As I'm sure a lot of people already realise, the recess where the module and rear tailgate relay are situated was full of water.

Disconnected the module, carefully removed plastic cover, which took with it the tails of all the corroded 'through board' components. After some hours with a soldering iron and patch cable I'd managed to bypass most of the obviously damaged tracks, got the box partly working, but not perfect.

Got quote from Ford for new module-

IIRC I think it was deciced that box is needed to run the central locking and a remote unit can be added to it, the module in question runs just more than the central locking! its responsible for the courtesy light delay and the alarm if fitted as well as the central locking

I'm sure mine didnt cost that much when it needed replaceing? will dig out the invoice and let you know
