seems a fair few have had this me included. i asked last year but no one really had any ideas. seems just like a quirk of some tdi engines. a fitter pal of mine said to try covering the fuel filter and end of fuel lines on the pump with grease to stop any air leaks. this we did and weve still had the odd time its refused to start , always though after the cars been running and then switched off and tried to restart in a few mins. but then as you say after a rest of 10 -20mins they start fine.

i tried all the usual things to cure, but it seems to have a mind of its own. if its running ok i suggest just leave it be. you can start more problems by tinkering about.
