Fixed My Non Starter Thanks To This Group!

Hi all

 

Just wanted to thank the group for helping me to fix (hopefully) my non starting Galaxy. I have had intermittent starting problems for a week, today, it just did not want to know, the problem was it was turning over, not firing and door panel light flashing, called AA, he could not help, only identified possible Immobiliser problem so towed me to garage. They did not fill me with confidence as they said how difficult it was to diagnose electical problems, so found this forum and researched. The solution seemed to be the R30 relay problem, so I went back to the garage, disconnected the battery for a while to try that solution and then got the relay box out. I just pushed them in and made sure they were all seated well, and it started first time! so, very happy that I avoided a garage bill. I am hoping thats all it was, if it goes again, I will try to get a replacement relay.

 

My slight concern is the immobiliser door light still flashes intermittently while I am driving? can anyone explain why it does this, I could not find any info on this?

 

I really like the fact with this site that now I can identify all the niggly problems and have a go at fixing them! so next it's my cruise control, my rear passenger door not locking, kids sticky sweets stuck in the carpet, broken speaker grills from knees! (do they do metal ones?)

I'll have to leave the aircon to the specialists (the only problem I've had in 6 years was The pump going twice unfortunately at

Just an update and question

 

My local Ford garage are having problems ordering a replacement R30 relay?? they can't find the correct part no: maybe because it's a VW part no:

Anyway, I was just wondering if any of you who have had to replace a R30/27 relay can give them and myself a hand in providing me with a part no?
