batteryboy Posted February 23, 2004 Report Posted February 23, 2004 I've got a two year old diesel ghia 115 and recently took out the driver's seat to install a Ford under-seat lockable box. It was necessary to disconnect the seat airbag plug from the loom under the floor for a few minutes, and reconnect it once the job was complete. Now I get 'FAULTY AIRBAG' warning whenever I drive the car. Does anyone know how to reset the airbag test system? Quote
seatkid Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 Disconnect the battery for 2 or 3 minutes and reconnect. Note radio code will need to be reset after this. Quote
batteryboy Posted February 26, 2004 Author Report Posted February 26, 2004 Thanks Just tried that (for 15 mins) but it's still the same I'll take the seat and box out again this weekend to make sure the plug's in the right connector (just in case there's more than one, and I didn't notice!) Guest nimrod Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 IIRC from reading this topic on other forums the fault code has to be removed by a code reader? If and when you do start checking the plugs for the air bags disconnect the battery and leave the car alone for 10/15 minutes before you start puling plugs apart! the air bag system retains some power to ignite the inflator in the case of the battery being disconnected in an accident! and no sticking a test meter across the plugs! ALARM MAN Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 I have just purchased a service interval reset boxIt also resets airbag lights providing no fault is still thereWill test this weekend and reportI purchase it from my local wholesalers Ian Quote
