bigbus Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 Has anyone had any experience of integrating an ipod with a 6006 (integral 6 disc unit)? I'm sick of fm transmitters, cigar lighter cables, and even the standard jack plug in the glove box looks messy. What I'd like is to fit a dock somewhere that will charge up, allow playback, and preferably enable control through the steering wheel buttons. So far, I've found I can use an ipod dock, and get the sound to the head unit okay, but I would still need to get the 5v supply to charge it up, and I can't use wheel controls. Also, I don't really want to have to drill holes everywhere to hide cables etc. I've trawled the net, but found no specific kit, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Doug. Quote

bigbus Posted June 6, 2008 Author Report Posted June 6, 2008 Thanks mk2VR6, it almost sounds too good to be true, and probably is...! I've ordered one anyway though, so fingers crossed. Cheers! Doug :D Quote
morellomax Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 I looked into this for our 2006 Mk3 Galaxy and was only interested if I could have steering wheel control of track selection and source switching, but in the end found the only way was to upgrade the head unit, either to a factory Sony one that plays MP3 CD's (so no ipod required at all) or something double DIN and touchscreen from Pioneer or Kenwood. The new Kenwood DNX5220BT is looking very tempting ! Quote
