Average Speed Readout

After zeroing the readout and going on a typical motorway type run, the average speed readout never exceeds more than 32mph.

Is there something I am missing? Or could there be a fault with the unit. Other readings all seem OK

You need to clear the previous stored readings by pressing and holding the trip meter reset button for a few seconds ..... it's the same on my Mondeo.
