Hi everyone,

I have a problem with my galaxy which I hope someone can shed some light on.

All of a sudden the red light within the temperature gauge has started flashing. The engine is not overheating, it drives the same as before, no apparent

water loss and the actual temp gauge needle just stays in the normal zone when the car has warmed up.

Any ideas anyone??

Cheers

Is the water level in the header tank ok? I know you say there is no apparent water loss, but have you checked the level in the tank or are you looking for leaks?

IIRC that light flashes if the level is low.

Mine done something similar a while back & it turned out to be the 4 pin temp sensor on the cooling pipe top rhs of the engine. 2 of t he pins work the guage 2 goto the ecu help with the cold starting .

The 2.0 petrol is different though, 2 sensors on the bottom of the thermostat housing, the one nearest the front is the temp gauge sender.
