paulh Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 Hi, my 05 Gal has just failed its mot on a leaky rear shock. It doesn't look particularly complicated but thats usually the kiss of death!Has anyone done this job before, are there any tips anyone can give me?Cheers Quote
seatkid Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 (edited) Isnt it under warranty? I thought all shocks on the Galaxy were gas shocks - they can't leak (oil) so double check that MOT tester is not pulling a quick one. Edited May 19, 2008 by seatkid Quote
Shabazmo Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 Its fairly straightforward. One bolt at the bottom and I think just one at the top. I think 18mm socket and spanners will do best of luck Quote
romseygalaxy Posted May 20, 2008 Report Posted May 20, 2008 I've changed the rear shock on my Gal, bolts were a bit stiff, but if you use a torque wrench set to correct torque you know you won't over do it and shear them. other than that it was easy ... and I'm am not a mechanic by any string of the immangination!
