If anyone is thinking about getting the optional variable suspension (as apart from the self levelling which I know nothing about) DON'T!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently there is a difference between smooth, normal and sport but for the life of me I can't tell a difference & neither can my other half.

What a waste of money that was!!

Is this on the new MK III ??????

If you can put your car details in your signature it helps other people to know which model you have.

Fair comment but I think you can only select options on new cars and you can only order an MKIII so yes I'm referring to an MKIII

How do you know if its working, if you cant notice any difference.

I thought that too so had them check it out and yes it it functioning correctly - It's only the damping it adjusts and it makes very little difference unless you hit a speed bump and you can tell it's working as you hit the other side - Well that's what they told me so I hope they haven't screwed my suspension altogether now.

It's not dramatic that's for sure, but I can 'feel' the difference on mine. Since I paid for this option, I don't see the point in having a 'normal' button

I have mine set to comfort most of the time and sport for lanes and bends.

Overall, I like it and was glad I selected the option.

I had one of these models for the weekend, and I noticed a big difference. Comfort made me a bit sick but was great over speed bumps. Normal was OK but a bit soft and firm was just right. When I buy the new galaxy I won't bother with this option.

That is true with Comfort not only with speed bumps but also in quick turns.

As for the difference between Normal and Sport, oh yes there is one and I recon quite substancial, the car holds much better and I have a secure feeling that I am missing on Normal.

Nevertheless when arround with family I usually use Normal which I suppose is what an average driver in everyday commuting needs.
