robfitzp Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 Hi Just got a 2006 SMax Titanium with X Pack which includes bluetooth. CD6006 seems to have just one option for bluetooth in the menu structure (on and off) so have turned this on. Tried searching on Blackberry 8700 and Nokia N95, both can identify 'Ford Audio' but neither can connect to it & the head unit gives an error message. Anyone have any ideas? CheersRob Quote
big_kev Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 I thought it was just a case of entering the pin number on the phone ( probably 0000 ) when it has found the radio. Quote
robfitzp Posted May 17, 2008 Author Report Posted May 17, 2008 Hi The error message that comes up on the CD6006 is "Bonding Fail" The N95 and Blackberry bluetooth scan identifies Ford Audio but the only option I have is to hit select. I imagine if it works this would then get me to the enter passcode screen - that is what the N95 manual suggests anyway. Any ideas? Might just go to Ford dealer and get them to have a go - does the 3 year warranty cover the stereo? Cheers (and thanks for replies) Rob Quote
big_kev Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 (edited) Are you using ( via your phone ) Options/ New paired devices ? Also does the radio already have 6 previous phones paired to it.If so you will have to delete at least one of them. And another daft question....you do have the manuals for both the phone and the radio ? Edited May 17, 2008 by big_kev Quote
robfitzp Posted May 18, 2008 Author Report Posted May 18, 2008 Hi Yes that is what I am using on the phone. I have no idea if the radio has previously paired phones - how can you check/delete? I have got the manual for the phones which basically just set out what you guys have been saying and what I am doing, it just fails before I have the chance to put a code in. I have generic radio manual that does not refer to bluetooth - is there a bluetooth manual? CheersRob Quote
robfitzp Posted May 18, 2008 Author Report Posted May 18, 2008 Thanks - needed to delete the various phones previously paired. Now working fine. CheersRob Quote
