At the moment I carry a full size spare around with me whenever I drive on the motorway, round town during the week it stays in the garage. If I had to I would use the gunk supplied with the gal, but as a last resort. Two questions come to mind:

1 Can the compressor provided inflate tyres without attaching the gunk cannister.

2 has anyone ever used ultraseal, or thought of carrying a can, enough to sort one wheel. In the speel it states this product is permanently active inside the tyre. But I wondered if at

I never had to use the ultraseal, but it did use the compressor.

If you leave the plug (where the ultraseal bottle is supposed to come), you can use the compressor to inflate your tires.

It really works well and is even relatively fast.

I would not mind driving with a repaired tyre, provided it is done well, and not just by inserting one of these 'sausages'.

If a tyre needs to be repaired, it has always to be dismounted and checked on the inside. Then it should be glued with a mushroom type seal.

Agree with you there Tommie ..... I've just had to have both of my fronts repaired due to punctures and they also have to drill a 6mm hole in the tyre around the puncture to insert a "plug". I spoke to the teckie with regards to blow outs and he confirmed that in the 20 years he has worked for them, he has never had any issues whatsoever with puncture repairs. He also stated that the main cause of blowouts was underinflation and damaged or cracked sidewalls. Personally, from my experience with bike tyres I would only use the Ultraseal as a temporary measure and limit my speed until I could get the tyre repaired properly.
