Guest H8ytr Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 Hi all I have a 99 T Reg Galaxy Ghia X and wish to put some nice sporty looking wheels on them.....can I just go to any wheel shop and get them? anything in particular I need to know or look out for? Also, where is the best place to get a rear roof spoiler for them? Quote
Ivor_E_Tower Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 Looking for new tyres too, or going to re-use your existing?Wheelnut spacing (pcd) and number of holes is critical. If retaining your tyres, rim width and wheel diameter are critical. Don't forget to coat the bolts with copperease or equivalent when re-fitting if you don't want them to stick, and a set of locking bolts may be advisable too.Let us know what you end up getting, please. Guest nimrod Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 you need to know the PCD (Pitch Circle Diameter) and offset 'ET' (distance from center of the wheel to mounting face on the hub), and the center bore size, the offset will change! depending on the width of the rim but the pcd will remain constant at 112x5 for a galaxy iirc, as for the center bore diamensions most wheel manufacturers provide adaptors/spigot/o rings to fit the rim to the vehicle, these allow the wheel to fit acurately to the hub most good stockists of wheels will know all this but its better to go in having some idea of what to look for!to get an idea of what the alloys would look like on your car try.........wheel machine 2000 the last time i looked you could bring up a picture of your car in basic colours and try the wheels on them to see how they looked! you could also try ....performance alloys as for the spoiler theres load of sites that sell them .............http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/sharanprices.htmlhttp://www.caracterestyling.co.uk/http://www.zwostyling.co.uk/index.shtmlhttp://www.abtsportsline.co.uk/ or even try fords!
