hi all this might have been done before but i cant open my bonnet i pull the catch and nothing happens please help i want to check all is ok under there

get someone to lean on bonnet whilst you operate catch - possibility

yep, its only way i can open mine, pull catcjh and have someone push on the bonnet a couple of times, i do not take any responsability if your bonnet gets dented. :D

thanks for the advice i have tried doing that but the cable seems very loose and bouncing on the bonnet is having no efect any more ideas PLEASE

If you search the forum, someone posted an explanation of how to pop the bonnet from underneath or the front (I cant remember which) - I know cos I posted some pics of the latch to clarify the instructions.

HI all thanks for all the advice the bonnet now works as it should i took out both 10mm bolts to free the bonnet adjusted the cable put it all back together and hey presto it worked total of about 2 hours and a couple of bleeding knuckles.

Hi Lee,

 

I had this problem on my 2001 TDi. Now you have it open there are two black adjuster screws that have flat heads on them. They adjust the height at which the bonnet sits when it shuts. I adjusted mine up and that seemed to stop it sticking when it was shut.
