Darren_2007 Posted May 6, 2008 Report Posted May 6, 2008 Help! The right hand indicator will not cancel (there appears to be a fault with the stalk). Called out the AA and their rep cannot find the relay or fuse. Does anyone know where this is so that I can cancel the indicator long enough to get me to a dealer? Many thanks Darren Quote
insider Posted May 6, 2008 Report Posted May 6, 2008 As far as I can tell it's fuses 17 and 18 for the indicators. I'm not sure which is which or what else it might disable too but it's worth a try! Quote
Darren_2007 Posted May 6, 2008 Author Report Posted May 6, 2008 Thanks a lot. These fuses appear to be behind a blank panel - any idea how to get under it? Regards Darren Quote
insider Posted May 6, 2008 Report Posted May 6, 2008 Sorry, no - I got the information from a wiring diagram. Have you checked in the owners manual? Quote
Darren_2007 Posted May 6, 2008 Author Report Posted May 6, 2008 Thanks insider - unfortunately I cannot find it (just moved house!). Many thanks Darren Quote
prolix Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 I have been having the same problem, the ford garage says there is nothing wrong with it (their electrical gismo said so) but the indicator turns on all the time and the parking light at night turns on aswell. Yesterday I could turn it on by rotating the wiper sensitivity thing and thats on the opposite side of the steering wheel. Will take it back to gargae tomorrow as is is down right dangerous. Did you solve it? Quote
Mossop Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 I know this is a old post but my Mk3 has just been in to a garage 7 times with this fault and after much verbal exercise we finally got a Ford Technician to come out to look at it. Turns out it was the indicator stalk. Defect started with the left indicator coming on of its own accord and then the right started a while later. Could often come to the car in the morning and find the side light on and when key was turned in ignition, the indicator would start even though the stalk was in the neutral position. Quote
