Guest DJN Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 I have recently bought the 2004 Galaxy Ghia with Sat Nav + DVD and asked the dealer to fit a CD changer. What a unreasonable demand!! Especially when the Sat Nav control has "CD Changer Control" control printed on it! Needless to say they cannot seem to help. Has anyone subsequently fitted a Changer and does it work with the Sat Nav screen where there is an option to switch to a CD? Thanks in advance. Quote
Guest floz Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 i too have just purchased a 2004 galaxy with the sat nav etc.my dealer is in the process of fitting the cd changer but is having trouble locating the correct lead however they assure me it is not a problem to fit and will work.i'll let you know if this is the case Floz. Dally Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 The problem is that Ford just don't know anything!! The satnav RNS 4 unit used in galaxies is made by vw audi group. Therefore, the cable and changer will need to be from vw audi! I have seen some on sale on Ebay on occasions.Or alternatively (as suggested elsewhere on the forum) you could go for a 3rd party changer like sony and use an interface box that will convert the vw / audi connection on the back of the RNS 4 to a sony unilink! Guest DJN Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 Does your CD changer fit in the rear OSR armrest or is it fitted elsewhere? Quote
Guest floz Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 just an update on the cd changer debate.my cd changer is now installed and working.the only place it would fit apparently is in the back right arm rest as the space under the seats contains the air bag controls etc.if any further info requied please feel free to contact me. happy driving floz.
