Guest BigSte Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 I have a bit of a problem with my steering, in that when I'm going quite fast on the motorway, I can feel shallow, oscilating vibrations in the steering wheel and it feels as though the power-steering has a mind of it's own.I have to concentrate to keep it in a straight line. Also, almost always when I pull away whilst turning I get a bit of wheel-spin or jumping from the front wheels. And if I go over a pot-hole with just one wheel, it tends to spin a little faster and pull the car in that direction. I used to drive a 1.0L Micra, so maybe I'm just not tuned into big cars, but it does seem a bit weird, although I can't put my finger on what the problem is. Anybody got any ideas what this might be? Guest ianock Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 What condition are your tyres in? Measure the depths across each tyre.I get the wheelspin aswell when pulling away,I just ease off clutch a little. The vehicle should be stable at motorway speeds, like I say check tyres & if you can suspension bushes, mine is fine at motorway speeds but it's good that you concentrate on driving unlike alot of idiots! Let us know about the tyres. Quote
