Guest j_mchattie Posted February 17, 2004 Report Posted February 17, 2004 As i approach any sort of obstacle and start changing down through the gears, the engine stalls. It happens more if i am pointing down hill, and i have to do quick gear changes or else the revs just drop off and keep on going untill it stalls. Sometimes it will drop to 500 rpm then pick back up to 800 again and its ok. Its starting to get dangerous at roundabouts! Its a 1993 mk1 Mondeo 1.8i 16v Zetec. I changed the rubber t-piece with no effect - any suggestions? Thanks - James Quote
Guest j_mchattie Posted February 20, 2004 Report Posted February 20, 2004 By the way, ive also changed the Idle Control Valve, still didnt help. The car still stalls at almost every turn or during braking with the clutch down.Very annoying - thanks for your help! Quote
Guest ianock Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 I had problem(stalling)at junctions, found the power steering sensor(on the upper pipe.Mk1 mondeo)wiring was broken,it hits the bonnet every time you close it  Worth a look? Quote
Guest j_mchattie Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 Ok good stuff, Thanks. Problems is it happens even when i dont steer! My speedo jumps (needs a new cable), perhaps this will sort it. Would a faulty speed reading cause the computer to stall the revs? Thanks for your reply Quote
