HI all got a tomtom permanent fitting kit & a parrot loom with proper iso to ford quadlock cable which I intend to fit into my 2008 galaxy ghia which is fitted with the sony gen2 head unit,I have the set of four radio removal keys but can't find any slots to fit them in so does it mean I somehow have to remove a "faceplate" to get at these?

Don't wannt to start ripping things apart without being nescessary

Tusk Tusk Ady ........ must admit looks a bit tacky doesn't it. Still I have the slightly older Sony version to bigallutes but the key holes are quite visible. I dunno then bigallute ...... did you try contacting SIO as they might have done several already?

You have to remove the fascia trim starting down by the handbrake, carefully prising it away. The "wood" trim on the dash must also be pulled off. You can then pull off the trim around the Sony. This shoud reveal 4 screws you can undo and the head unit will pull out. No special tools required.

cheers Bob you were spot on!

If anyone contemplates doing this there is NO need to go removing bits from the glovebox or even the fuse board as I found that an ignition sense wire can be found in the thick loom of wires just slightly to the right of the cd player hole & is coloured PURPLE

Do you know what the loom was called that you used for the Parrot. I've just removed the Parrot from my Galaxy MkII and want to install to Galaxy MkIII with Sony GEn2 head unit?

Hi all,

I've read the post above from tractorboy1964 regarding removing the Sony head unit but I'm a bit wary about breaking something. Does anyone know exactly how the trim and "wood" strip is fixed. Am I looking for clips or tabs? Has anybody got any pictures?

Thanks

Keith
