When putting petrol in the car the pump is always clicking off why. 3. what is the best setting to stop the windows steaming up on a rainy day as they steam up very quickly . Quote
tiny Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 (edited) Hi there and welcome. In answer to some of your questions, The speaker grills are a simple fix, they are a just a couple of quid from ford and if you do a search on the forum you should find plenty of posts on the subject, there is no need to take the door cards off if you are careful.Speaker grille replacement Fuel refill click, doesn't do it on mine, is it at all pumps? Perhaps the petrol station you use on a regular basis has fast fill rates, these can be more temeramental on a whole host of cars. If your windows are steaming up easily, its possibly because you have a water ingress problem, do a search on pollen filters, these are a famous cause of water ingress. Although in my experience and with a lack of air-con they do tend to mist up more than most cars. Have you got the air stuck on recirc'? This would also cause it.Pollen filter FAQ Edited April 16, 2008 by tiny Quote
mumof4 Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 Hmm..i have the fuel pump issue with mine, and mines an N reg diesel... mind, mine sounds like a bag of spanners with a ton of ball bearings thrown in for good measure at the mo...only when cold though...but she rattles better than a thousand rattlesnakes, and the smoke first thing in the morn is a heck of a smokescreen.... insider Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 2. When putting petrol in the car the pump is always clicking off why.Try not putting the fuel pump nozzle into the filler too far. Quote
mk2vr6 Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 stick the filler nozzle in upside down, handle upwards and twist it around till you find the optimum position that allows full flow, mine was with the trigger/handle pointing towards the top of the rear hatch  it then allowed full flow on the pump steaming up? run the ac and as stated swap out the pollen filter and clear the scuttle drains, apart from that dont go out in the rain!
