wow Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 was indicating to pullover and the wipers came on. They would not stop when either control was used or when engine was stopped and the vehicle locked .Tried several times locking and unlocking but they continued to function.Restarted and drove home again stopped and switched engine off. After about 5 minutes they eventually stopped.Scared to go near it again until dealer opens to morrow.Any ideas/thoughts-1.8 TDCIcheerswow Quote
wow Posted April 15, 2008 Author Report Posted April 15, 2008 took it to dealer on Monday and it is supposed to be something to do with the alarm! Anyhow new part has been ordered. Dealer said he reprogrammed the unit and this should stop malfunction, however it has continued on/off although not as bad as the 10 minutes or so on Sunday.He has also ordered a new flywheel as he said that this was about to go(17k)Did a recall(but for what I don,t know) but it was updated on the computerwow Quote
madmp3 Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 (edited) This sounds like something is curropting the CAN bus signal in the electrics which will do this sort of thing have you had anything fitted to it recently like bluetooth or parking sensors? these can cause this if the electircian has connect the power to the wrong wire. if not then i would suggest disconnecting the battery for 30 mins to an hour then see what happens.
