s payne Posted April 12, 2008 Report Posted April 12, 2008 Bought gal (98 2.3 ghia x) from car dealer (not ford). after collecting it car would kangaroo badly when engine not under much load, eg at 30 in 3rd.car gone back 3 times. has had new MAF and some pipes? replaced but problem persists. Dealer says Ford have told him common in 10 year old gals and tough to cure.dealer feels he's tried enough. Just want car to work as otherwise its great. Any advice on how to get this cured? Quote
insider Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 Contact Consumer Direct (some advice here - http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/before_yo.../dealer#named2). They'll probably recommend that you return the car to the Dealer, give them a time limit in which to fix the fault and if it isn't done to refund your money. They can't just give up and say they can't fix it! Quote
s payne Posted April 20, 2008 Author Report Posted April 20, 2008 Thanks for that insider. I fear that we may end up having to go down that route unless it can be solved.Car goes back again tomorrow so fingers crossed. Quote
seatkid Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 It could be your EGR valve. You shouldnt accept a car like that, I would take it back and demand my money back. Quote
