Guest dmc Posted September 16, 2003 Report Posted September 16, 2003 this is the procedure for programming the remote only,not the immobiliser. to do the immobiliser,you will either need the red master key or all the programmed keys(depending on year of vehicle system fitted) if that doesnt work,the the dealer will have to programme it on their wds/fds machine. your local key cutter will not be able to do it. Guest EVSS Posted September 17, 2003 Report Posted September 17, 2003 this is quite correct, without the plug in unit for the diagnostic socket you wont get the new key into the immobilizer system,. For a long time we existed on one key with a remote, then just before going on holiday i decided we had better have a spare, ... rang ford yes they could get a blank key and remote, but have to send away for it to be cut, total cost 158 pounds.went to a sunday market , . gentleman gives me his number ring it next day, and he comes out 2 days later, programmes the key in and interestingly, you wont believe this,,when i then ring ford again and suggest that i will take the key +remote and have it cut they charge me 52.19+vat( i nearly took 2) needless to say gentleman cut new key out of the back of his car,and programmed it in.ford by the way wanted 49 +vat to program cost me with cutting 35inc.The most nailbiting part was watching as all immobiliser codes have to be erased before new keys added, and the joke this is the first one ive done didnt go down well. any way if any one is in east midlands/Leicestershire/Notts area i have hi number. gary also tryed vw to cut key they send them to London.. Guest ANDY FITZGERALD Posted September 21, 2003 Report Posted September 21, 2003 :blink: I was curious, Do all Galaxy vehicles have the facility to remote central lock from appropriate type of key, I am in a position where I only have the one key, (torch key), this key has the pats transponder but does not have the buttons for remote central locking.Do I have to get the master type key from Ford, in order to have remote central locking feature ??
