tim-spam Posted May 21, 2008 Report Posted May 21, 2008 The latest Sharan 2.0 TDI is Euro IV and pulls like a train - even better than my 115 TDI... Quote
dellybeanhead Posted May 22, 2008 Author Report Posted May 22, 2008 Well, I sold my 1.8 Galaxy today and tried out my friends 2.0 S-Max. The 2.0 engine was great. It pulls my caravan no problem at all and very stable too. It was also very good on a steep incline. I am very tempted to get another Galaxy but the 2.0 version. Quote
Willie Krashitt Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 In answer to the question about torque truncation in the lower gears, this is applied in 1st, 2nd (less truncated) and reverse (same as 1st). This is to protect the transmission from breaking. It has nothing to do with emissions. Have attached the torque curves for the Galaxy/S-Max, with the VW 115 and 130PS curves added for reference. This is what would be achieved in 3-6th gear. Power_2.pdf Quote
morellomax Posted June 16, 2008 Report Posted June 16, 2008 Dellybeanhead - can you stretch to the new 2.2 ? It was born to tow. Quote
