bj2004 Posted March 25, 2008 Report Posted March 25, 2008 Hi allI intend taking the gal touring europe this summer for 6 weeks and thought about a spares kit what sort of items would i put in it ? MAF sensor seems a good idea and maybe a aircon top up kit anyone got other items that could save very expensive garage bills?already got vag com on laptop and spare lamps etc Quote
MrT Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 Don't forget the car travel documentation, fist aid kit, fire extinguisher, headlamp convertors, warning triangle and a reflective vest for every member of the vehicle, these are recommended in most countries and mandatory in some. You should get your NHS card for free treatment in European countries for each member of your party. A torch is always useful. Taking a MAF may be a bit excessive but where do you stop? If everything is thoroughly checked before going and you have some form of breakdown cover, you should not need to carry too many spares. Quote
JohnR Posted March 26, 2008 Report Posted March 26, 2008 I just got back on friday evening from a week skiing in Vallorcine near Chamonix with the Gal. Basically, it depends on how much space you can allocate. As there were only 2 of us in the car, I took all my tools plus trolley jack and laptop. If you want to travel lighter, then get an extension to your breakdown cover. If you are in the AA, you can get 1 weeks recovery service in Europe for about Quote
