Mikef Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 HI All I've been reading through the notes on here about the dreaded white smoke from the heating system, and I am thining of having a go at replacing the glow plug thanks to some of the great info on here (even tho I class myself as a mechanical buffoon...) What I have noticed tho is that the smoke doesn not just come from the end of the heating exhaust, but the length of the exhaust and where it joins the body of the heater. Do you think that could indicate other problems in the system? And is there a way to disable it, maybe by removing a fuse? Its embarrassing for the first ten mins or so with other drivers pointing at me... cheers all mike Quote
Mikef Posted March 24, 2008 Author Report Posted March 24, 2008 I'm sorry...reading around I think I meant Booster Heater....its getting so bad now you can smell it inside the car cheers mike Quote
NikpV Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 recently we had the white smoke and like yours it came from the exhaust as well as from the junction of the exhaust and heater - I did buy another glow plug but before I could fit it the thing started firing up again Quote
NikpV Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 And is there a way to disable it, maybe by removing a fuse? Its embarrassing for the first ten mins or so with other drivers pointing at me according to andee its fuse 12 on a mk2 see his posts here Quote
