Guest andley Posted March 27, 2003 Report Posted March 27, 2003 hello again just a minor query. the temp'gauge plays silly games. sometimes its ok and works fine climbing slowly and staying where it should. another time it stays down and occasionaly moves up a tad only to go back downagain . it also stays down until engine is nice and warm and then moves into"normal "zone only to go down shortly after. the engine warms up nicely ,does not over heat and runs fine. (the gauge worked fine when we first got the car) does it sound like a duff sensor or is it something more sinister?? any answers offered much appreciated (nb where is it located and is it the usual easy job of replacement?) Guest smudge.g Posted March 31, 2003 Report Posted March 31, 2003 i have a 96 2.0i petrol version and have exactly the same problem. The car has never overheated since I've had it but it does do the crazy needle thing occasionally. Again, I never know which is the true reading - down below the first white part (where it normally is ) or at the beginning of the 'normal' part (where it occasionally is). I guess it is just another one of those 'Galaxy things' !!! Quote
gazza007 Posted June 10, 2003 Report Posted June 10, 2003 I have the same problem with My Alhambra 115 TDI.(sorry to crash but no Seat forums of mention)Gauge is all over the show, sometimes drops to 0 and stays there but no overheating and aux water heater kicks in when cold.Already had it once in with SEAT but couldn't find problem.Lived with it for a while but took it back and showed problem to the service Manager and insisted they sort it. Going in On Monday. Will let you know Quote
gazza007 Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 Just got the Alhambra back.New water temp Sensor fitted. Seems OK nowThey also recharged the Air Con, replaced scrached interior door handle, topped up brake fluid and pushed out a 2ft long dent on NS passenger door that I'd asked them to quote for.All this for free.Expected the other things under the warranty but to fix the dent free is extremely generous and I'll be writing to the Manager to express my thanks.Ps Dealership is Bells Seat, Hyde Manchester. :D Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted June 19, 2003 Report Posted June 19, 2003 Think I'll try Bells....I bought 130TDi Seat from a dealer not far from there (guess). They are "not good". Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 Had the first service done at Bells They have managed to overfill the oil by an inch up the dipstick. So back it goes before the Cat is ruined........ And they have spilt oil all over the RUBBER pipe work and alternator. Quote
Guest SA Intruder Posted July 16, 2003 Report Posted July 16, 2003 They're all crap. My previous Sharan was damaged underneath by YOP at VW Main Agent. Lowered the 4P ramp onto an oil drain drum....creased underbody badly. Tore engine mounts etc.... At 4 months old. Got new car out of it.... Crappy engine....2L VW petrol. Did big miles though without probs. Quote
